Unleashing the Hero Within
Discover your untapped potential and become the hero of your own narrative – where every day is an opportunity for a new, epic adventure. Contact UsBlogI’m Bruce W. Selvage, Jr., a writer, wannabe artist, and lifelong learner with a heart full of enthusiasm and a deep love for Christ. Here, you’ll find my stories, poetry, and philosophical musings—explorations of movies, music, art, and pop culture through a lens of depth psychology and faith. I’m drawn to the big questions and the small wonders, whether I’m penning a tale, crafting an essay, or unpacking the beauty in a song. As a budding artist, I capture the world up close through photography and spin it into abstract digital creations, inspired by the raw pulse of emotion, the sweep of nature, and the fleeting shapes of dreams.
I’m an extravert in the Jungian sense—energized by ideas, connection, and the joy of sharing what sets my soul on fire (my wife calls it infectious enthusiasm!). When I’m not creating, you might catch me lost in a book, curating a playlist that spans genres, swinging (badly) at a golf ball, or flowing through Tai Chi, which I love teaching and learning in equal measure. My faith is the heartbeat of it all—a messy, honest journey to reflect Christ’s love in my words, my art, and my place in this wild, God-crafted world.
This site is my offering: a space of inspiration, hope, and joy. I dream of being a published writer and a better Tai Chi instructor, but above all, I want you to leave here feeling a spark—maybe to create, maybe to wonder, maybe just to smile. Welcome to my corner—let’s chase the light together.

Light and Shadow
I managed to capture the moment the sun was about to emerge from the clouds. I don’t remember where, but I loved the illumination.

Thin Spot on Kuai
Thin spots are places of transition where the mundane can mingle with the transcendent. This was a moment of transition from light to dark at a place where fresh water meets the ocean. Thin spots are fantastic places for introspection.

Forbidden Island in Hawaii
Sunset always holds a special place for me. I happened to be on a beach with a view of the island that is only open to natives. This was a moment that I found beautiful and really loved the image that I was able to capture.
